Caravan SandWitch

Caravan SandWitch is an adventure game where you play a young woman searching for her sister in a post-apocalypse world where survivors live in harmony with the natural world. You explore in your van, searching for scrap and clues about your sister. It stands out for the unusual approach to an open-world adventure where the emphasis is on road trip adventuring and gentle narrative rather than spectacle or fighting.

PLAY STYLE

Team Up With Game World

You play Sauge, a young woman who returns to her home planet of Cigalo when she learns her sister has gone missing. The planet, once full of industrial activity, was almost destroyed by human exploitation, and those that remain now live a simple life, getting by on the scrap they find and tending to the beautiful landscape. You travel the vast natural expanses in your van in search of scrap and clues to your sister's whereabouts, all the while being seemingly followed by a mysterious cloaked figure.

Play involves driving through lush forests and open plains, stopping at towns and settlements to talk to characters and upgrade your van. From the characters you learn about their sense of community, and begin to understand the beauty of the simple life they lead. You complete missions and deliver parts to them in exchange for new items. The equipment you add to your van lets you traverse new areas and solve environmental puzzles, from ancient ruins to hidden passages, and you gradually fill out your map of the planet in your search.

The result is an open-world game that emphasises gentle exploration and unhurried adventure rather than fighting or an action-packed spectacle. Gradually expanding your search, while learning from locals and understanding their way of life makes for a relaxed yet enticing adventure.
