Venba is a narrative cooking game where you play an Indian mother who emigrated to Canada in the 1980s. You cook various traditional Indian dishes and restore lost recipes which were damaged in the move to Canada. As you cook, you talk to your family and learn about their life and history. It stands out for weaving a multi-generational story through the meals and conversations you create.

Along with the narrative and conversations, Venba offers cooking puzzles where you repair the recipes, fill in the missing ingredients and instructions, and then prepare the dishes by clicking and dragging the utensils and ingredients and preparing the meal. Each day brings a new recipe and you cook a variety of Southern Indian dishes that tie in with the narrative.
This game explores cooking traditional Indian cuisine and the stories behind the mother's recipes. By the end, you have journeyed through her life choices about living in another country, her marriage and her fractious relationship with her son.
