PLAY STYLE
Although this technology and gameplay had existed previously in the developer's games (like Ingress) Pokémon Go had huge success with families and people of all ages. By early 2019, the game had over a billion global downloads, grossing over $3 billion in revenue. The game also had over 147 million monthly active users as of May 2018.
Its unique collecting game-play combined with needing to explore your local area to find creatures was a big hit. The game converted local sites of interest, like Churches, Castles and rivers into elements in the game.

Set time limits
Set screen time boundaries to get your child moving regularly and to give their eyes a break. Find options available through parental controls available on the console or in-game.
Manage online interactions
Multiplayer games can pose additional contact risks from both people the child knows and doesn't know, commonly in the form of bullying or hate. Talk about what positive behaviour looks like and review in-game settings and console parental controls to keep them safe.
Highlight safety features
For games where your child might interact with others online, make sure you review tools like report and block to help them stay safe.
Skill level age
Suggested by Family Gaming Database
The simpler nature of the game makes it simple to play for youngsters. Provided they have an adult to go out and explore with it's a great fit for a first Pokemon game.
Content rating
Rated PEGI 7 for mild violence against fantasy characters. Users can engage the cartoon, and fantasy characters in Gym battles, which involve two of them sending waves and elements between each other. When hit, they flinch and there is a brief flash. When defeated, they disappear and a glowing orb appears. They then evolve into their next character. Characters can be healed by buying potions.
