Hades
Hades is a fighting game where you battle your way through dungeons to escape hell and the clutches of Hades. You play as Zagreus, the son of Hades and as you shoot your way through the game, you'll meet many recognisable Greek gods like Zeus, Athena and Poseidon who try to help you escape and give you new skills. It stands out for the combination of organic narrative and pixel-perfect shooting required to progress.

PLATFORMS
POSITIVE GAMEPLAY
PLAY STYLE
The game is formatted as a rogue-like game, where you must move through a series of dungeons and where your progress is reset if you die. But, unlike other rogue-like games, when restarting the dungeon crawl, your character remains permanently upgraded and characters you meet remember you from your previous attempts. Each environment and character is hand-drawn in a cartoon style and is fully voiced.
This results in an action game where the narrative and evolving story also offer a strong reason to play. It combines fast-paced action, cyclical progress and an organic story. Each time you play, these elements come together in different ways to provide new opportunities for building your hero and new stories and characters to discover.

Online Interactions
Some contact risks exist with multiplayer games such as bullying and online hate. Talk to your child about online etiquette, the importance of reporting any inappropriate behaviour and how to report or block an unkind player if they need to.
Violent content
Some video games include violent content, but how it's portrayed may vary from cartoon violence to that which is more realistic. Review the game's rating to ensure what your child sees is suitable for their development, use parental controls to set content age limits and talk regularly about how the violence they see in-game makes them feel.
Real vs. Fantasy
Some shooting games may show cartoon-style violence with silly reactions that would not be realistic outside of the game. Talk to your child about what the result of the same action might be outside of the game and why it's important to keep in the game.
Skill level
Suggested by Family Gaming Database
It's a game where you need fast reactions and forward planning. Also, because you play through multiple rounds, you need to learn from your mistakes and make choices about the next round to help you do better. Older players get more out of the mythological story that develops.
Content rating
Rated PEGI 12 for Violence and Language. It contains depictions of non-realistic-looking violence towards human-like characters. The majority of the violence is inflicted with melee weapons and magic. Regardless of the type of weapon used, the reaction to the violence remains the same. Characters are often knocked backwards and lose their balance, although no visible wounds are shown. Bright lights and magical effects appear when characters are hit, with some blood effects present. When a character is defeated, they are lifted above the ground before being dropped into a whirlpool of what appears to be blood. The game also contains infrequent use of bad language ('b*!%$@d').
