JellyCar Worlds

JellyCar Worlds is a puzzle game about a car made of jelly traversing a squishy world. You use the physics properties of the car and the objects in the world to get from A to B. It's an action puzzle game that stands out for the joyous novelty of a malleable vehicle and imaginative ways to solve geometrical problems. Novelty oozes from every pore, but it's the pixel-perfect execution and ability to balance your jelly car with nuance and skill that make this stand out from the crowd.

It's a game that was popular ten years ago and is now recreated in modern form. To play you drive the car backwards and forwards to make use of its tactile soft-body physics. Because it's made of jelly you can squish through gaps, stick to things and even hang upside-down. As you progress you get more abilities (Grow, Balloon, Sticky Tires and Rocket) to help you navigate the levels and find the exit.

The result is a more-ish puzzle game that takes you through the pages of its living flick-book. It's a challenging game, but one that has the feel of the playground rather than the classroom. For expert players, there's a real mechanical challenge to perfect.

Insights to ensure your child's gaming experience remains safe and enjoyable

Internet Matters Recommends

Competitive nature

Racing encourages competition. This can frustrate some younger players when they play against older siblings or adults. Encourage regular breaks and provide tools to help manage their emotional responses.

Talk about real-life driving

Some racing games encourage dangerous driving or unrealistic speed. Talk about the difference between reality and fiction to help them understand what is expected offline.

Multiplayer Features

Some racing games offer multiplayer modes. Manage your child's interactions with other players by using parental controls and talking to them about positive behaviour to ensure a safe and respectful gaming environment.

Skill level age

Suggested by Family Gaming Database

5+

Very young players may need help with some of the more complex puzzles and the technique of dealing with both tilting and forward/reverse momentum, but they can still have a lot of fun exploring the world and trying out different abilities.
